Why wrap an image in a PDF at all

JPG is what you have; PDF is what institutions ask for. Application portals, printers, and paperwork systems routinely reject image uploads but accept PDFs — partly for formatting control, partly for inertia. Converting JPG to PDF wraps your image in a document container: fixed page size, printable, often smaller in practice than the raw photo because the bytes are not re-encoded.

The important design decision in any image-to-PDF tool is whether it re-compresses your image. Re-encoding a JPG inside a PDF generation pipeline can double the artifacts: the image gets compressed, decoded, and compressed again, each pass eating fine detail like text edges and skin texture.

How this conversion handles your image

LiteConvert embeds the original JPEG stream into the PDF without a re-compression pass — the pixels you uploaded are the pixels a reader renders. The page geometry is derived from the image dimensions at a sane print density, so a screenshot becomes a tidy page rather than a poster-sized monster, and photos keep their aspect ratio with no stretching or letterboxing.

Color spaces are normalized on the way in: CMYK JPEGs from print workflows and progressive JPEGs from the web are decoded properly so every PDF viewer shows the same colors. The output opens everywhere — phones, browsers, Adobe Reader — because it is a bog-standard PDF 1.7 with a single image object.

Conversion is effectively instant; the upload is the only time you wait.

Where image-to-PDF fits (and doesn't)

One image in, one PDF out: that is this tool's whole job. If you need a twenty-photo gallery as a twenty-page PDF, that batching flow is on the roadmap but not in the current beta — this page converts one file per run, and we would rather be clear about that than hide it behind a disabled plus button.

For text documents, remember the direction of fidelity: a photo of a printed page is still a photo. If what you actually want is selectable text, you are looking for OCR (which this platform does not offer yet), not image wrapping.

Retention and privacy

Your image is stored only long enough to hand you the PDF link. Automatic cleanup removes the original and the result within 24 hours. No account is required, no email is collected, and no third-party advertising runs on the site — the incentive structure is deliberately boring.

04 · FAQ

Frequently asked

Is JPG to PDF conversion really free?

Yes. During the beta everything on LiteConvert is free within daily per-IP quotas (failures refunded). No account required, no card, no watermark on the output.

Are my files safe?

Your files travel over HTTPS, are converted, and both the original and the result are automatically deleted within 24 hours. We never sell or share uploaded files, and there are no third-party ad networks on this site.

How long does a conversion take?

Most files finish in seconds. Larger files take longer, and you will see progress while the conversion runs.

Will the conversion reduce image quality?

No. The original JPEG data is embedded without re-compression, so quality is bit-for-bit what you uploaded.

Can I combine multiple images into one PDF?

Not in this beta — one image per conversion. Batch merging is planned.

Does the PDF have a watermark?

Never.

What page size will the PDF be?

The page matches your image's aspect ratio at a sensible print size — no stretching or borders.
